Pork fried ramen noodles

Pork Fried Ramen Noodles

Chef Ej walks you through the process of making Pork Fried Ramen Noodles. It's basically a spin on pork fried rice but with Ramen instead.

Today here at the pub, we walk you through the process of making Pork Fried Ramen Noodles.

Everyone knows about the common pork fried rice that you can get at any Asian/Chinese food restaurant. This is essentially a spin on that but instead of the rice, we will be using Ramen noodles.

What you will need to make Pork Fried Ramen noodles:

2 bags of pork flavored ramen noodles (Can also use soy sauce flavored ramen or Oriental)

An egg

A 4 oz pork chop

A Tablespoon of butter

1/3 cup of finely chopped onion

2 finely chopped garlic cloves

1/4 cup of peas

Dash of ground pepper

A dash of ground turmeric

Dash of ground ginger

A dash of ground cumin

Worcestershire sauce

Soy sauce (Unless using soy sauce flavored Ramen packets)

2 qt saucepan

small frying pan

Strainer/colander

Cook or bake pork chop and slice into small bite-size chunks

Fill 2-quart saucepan half-way with water and when it starts to boil add 2 packets of Ramen noodles. Cook for 4 minutes (Not 3 minutes like most sites recommend), strain and add a pat of butter to the noodles to give moisture.

In a small frying pan, place 2 tablespoons of butter and add onions, garlic, peas, and season with black pepper. After just a few minutes when everything starts to become caramelized, add scrambled egg to the pan.

*Hint for the egg – Add a spoonful of water and a spoonful of milk before scrambling the egg to make it a little fluffy. While fork-stirring the eggs, add dashes of Worcester, Soy, Turmeric, Cumin, and Ginger to eggwash before putting in the pan.

Add all of the pan ingredients to buttered ramen and then add the seasoning packet from the ramen noodles. Mix in chopped pork bits, stir it all together and serve it up hot.
